I’m Kris Heuer, and the story of ishbudesign goes back to when I was in high school. At that point in time, I was working my first job at K-Mart, and someone mentioned to me that there are too many people who worked there who went by Chris/Kris.

I needed a nickname.

Now, he was kind enough to give me two options: Ishbu, or something that I’d rather not repeat here. Needless to say, I picked Ishbu.

Much to my chagrin, the nickname didn’t stick — people still called me Kris, and I left that job shortly afterward.

It wasn’t until I started trying to market myself as a designer that the idea of a pseudonym came to mind, and my memories from that job at K-Mart informed the name I’ve used for anything design related since then: ishbudesign.

Now, since that point in time, I’ve bounced from doing tiny little freelance gigs to working 9-5 at Fortune 250 companies. But no matter where I go, I live by the same ethos, to “totally bring the awesomeness,” where ever I go.

It’s nice to meet you; let’s make something awesome together.
